Krystal Lee Muccioli of Nashua is Miss New Hampshire 2010. She competed as Miss Greater Derry in the 64th Annual Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program Thursday, April 29th through Saturday night, May 1, 2010. A 20-year-old Junior at the University of New Hampshire, Krystal is seeking a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Public Health. A graduate of Nashua High School – North, she plans to obtain a Master’s Degree in Public Health and hopes to become a public health policymaker for the Center for Diseases Control.

Krystal’s platform issue is "Volunteerism: Be the Change You Wish to see in the World." During her year of service as Miss Greater Derry, Krystal held several fund-raisers for the Miss America national platform—the Children’s Miracle Network. Krystal raised more than $3000 for CMN and was awarded the Miracle Maker award at the pageant. She has also received a President’s Volunteer Service Award and was recognized for her community service work by then-Governor, Jeanne Shaheen and U.S. Senator Judd Gregg. She has volunteered for the Haiti Relief organization, mentored as a big sister in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Nashua, served as a Nashua United Way Liaison, and organized a book drive for the Nashua Public Library.

Krystal is a 15-year member of SAG and AFTRA (two acting unions), and has appeared in commercials and episodic television, including a role as a child murder victim on Law & Order. For the Miss New Hampshire competition, Krystal sung an entertaining jazzy “Hit Me with a Hot Note” from Sophisticated Ladies. She won a preliminary swimsuit award during the competition. She has won nearly $24,000.00 in scholarships through the program over the past two years. This was her first trip to the Miss NH State competition.

Krystal’s parents are Alfred and Patti Muccioli. She has an older brother, and a three year old sister, Siena—the light of her life!

Krystal will compete for the title of Miss America, telecast live on ABC network on January 15, 2010.
