How has pageantry affected your life? Although I sometimes hate to admit it, I am a pageant girl and have been involved with pageantry since age ten. I cannot say where I would be without my pageantry friends and family. From the time I began doing pageants until know I have learned so much and made so many friends (some like Krystal are still right beside me)! Pageantry has given me self confidence; it has given me a support system; and has helped me develop into a leader within my community and school. The virtues of pageantry are many and I have used these to not only benefit my own growth, but to help my community through my platform work and volunteer service. Through pageantry I have learned to speak professionally and passionately about issues that are important such as childhood obesity. Pageantry has affected just about every aspect of my life I truly do not know where I would be without the gifts it has given me.

What is your major in college/what interests you the most in school? I am a marketing major with a minor in dance at Providence College. Two fields that are complete opposites of one another, but, I love them both. Marketing is a talent that I have developed through my artistic side. The part I enjoy most about marketing is the graphic design components. When I complete my degree I would like to develop a career in graphic artistry at Rhode Island School of Design. I chose my minor because I love to dance and choreograph routines. I have danced since I was four years old and studied a variety of genres. At Providence College, I am privileged to have an incredible dance program, brand new dance studios and teachers hailing from famous dance companies. The opportunity of having a dance minor has allowed me to step outside of the classroom and continue my love of dance. Through my minor I was able to choreograph my talent routine that will be performed at Miss New Hampshire.

What was the most fun, craziest, or unique job you’ve ever had? Teaching preschool gymnastics! I started teaching gymnastics at age 14 and after many years grew into a coach. My initial “teaching” mostly involved chasing children around the gym and spotting simple skills such as backward rolls and back walkovers, as well as numerous trips to the water fountain! Watching the children learn skills I remember learning as a child was fun, rewarding, and truly a fun, crazy and unique experience.

What is something people would be surprised to know about you? I am a Division 1 Cheerleader at Providence College, but I never participated in cheerleading before entering college! I was a competitive gymnast for 10 years and never dreamed of becoming a cheerleader. As a college student, I knew I wanted to continue participating in sports. I sent a video to Providence College of my tumbling abilities and was immediately accepted to the team based solely on my video. Little did I know what an enormous amount of work, strength, and dedication it would take to be a Division 1 Cheerleader!
