How has pageantry affected your life? I have grown so much with this program since I've started competing. My public speaking skills have significantly improved which has given me the confidence to pursue a career in sports broadcasting journalism. I've also benefited by practicing interview skills, learning how to handle my nerves,
and networking with the people I've met at the various events I've attended. The most special part I'd have to say, are the friends that I've made, who yes are my competition, but are dear to my heart. |
What is something people would be surprised to know about you? I've never eaten red meat, not even a Big Mac. My mom always made meals with chicken, turkey and seafood but never red meat. When I tell people that I've never tried steak they encourage me to try it but I explain to them I'm perfectly happy with the white meat especially turkey bacon. |
What are your hobbies? I enjoy taking Bikrham yoga classes. I also like cooking, baking, trying new recipes, playing card games (my favorite is Apples to Apples), and attending sporting events, especially UNH football and hockey games. Go Wildcats! |
What is your greatest achievement? I think my greatest achievement is breaking into a male dominated career. I was nervous to major in something that is known as a "guy's job," I was afraid I wouldn't be taken seriously, and would be rejected. A lot of people are actually impressed with the sports knowledge I have and I've been fortunate enough to have opportunities to help me become successful and break down the barriers of sports reporting. |
