Candace Glickman is a 21-year-old resident of Manchester who just completed her Junior year at the University of New Hampshire at Manchester where she is a Dean's List student. She is pursuing a B.A. in Communication Arts, and plans to obtain a Masters Degree in Integrated Arts.
Candace not only won the title of Miss New Hampshire on May 3, 2003, she also won the Donald C. Anderson Community Service Platform Award and was in a three-way tie for the overall interview award. Her Critical Issue is Arts Integration in Education. Candace has worked tirelessly promoting Arts Education and Classroom Integration of the Arts throughout the Greater Manchester area during the last four years. A four-time participant in the Miss New Hampshire Scholarship Program, Candace previously won the 4th runner up award for three years in a row. As Miss Deerfield Fair she captured the coveted Miss NH title and went onto place in the top 10 at Miss America on September 20, 2003. Candace won a Miss America preliminary swimsuit competition, placed in the top eight for the Quality of Life, and took home an additional $12,000 in scholarships from Miss America.
Candace won over $50,000 during her four years in the Miss NH/Miss America Program. At state, Candace performed a moving rendition of the Josh Groban Ballard, "To Where You Are" during the talent competition. She dedicated the song to her cousin Peter, lost in the 911 tragedy, and to her Great Grandfather, Marty Glickman, who has served as an inspiration in her life. At Miss America, Candace performed "Half a Moment" from the Andrew loyd Webber musical, Geeves.
